Payment Methods

Cuedin supports automatic and manual payment detection across CashApp, Venmo, PayPal, and multiple cryptocurrencies. Automatic detection works on all plans for the first 50 orders per month; unlimited detection requires Pro or Business.

How automatic detection works

Cuedin connects to a dedicated Gmail account you provide. Your payment apps (CashApp, Venmo, PayPal) send email notifications for every payment received. Cuedin reads the metadata (subject line only — never the body) of those emails and matches them to pending orders.

Important: Use a dedicated Gmail account for payment notifications — not your personal email. This keeps detection clean and avoids accidentally processing unrelated emails.

Gmail setup (required for auto-detection)

1

Create a dedicated Gmail

Create a new Gmail account exclusively for your business payment notifications.

2

Connect it in the dashboard

Go to Config → Payments → Gmail Connection → "Connect Gmail Account" and authorize access.

3

Set notification emails

In CashApp, Venmo, and PayPal settings, enable email notifications and set the notification address to your connected Gmail.

CashApp

Setup:

  1. Go to Config → Payments and enable CashApp
  2. Enter your $CashTag (e.g. $yourbusiness)
  3. Make sure Gmail is connected (see above)
  4. In CashApp → Settings → Notifications, enable email notifications to your connected Gmail

Memo matching: CashApp payments are matched using a random memo word shown to customers on the invoice. The customer must include this word when sending payment (e.g. "coffee"). This protects your account from flags.

Payment notification format Cuedin looks for:

From: cash@square.com
Subject: [username] sent you $X.XX for [memo_word]

Venmo

Setup:

  1. Go to Config → Payments and enable Venmo
  2. Enter your @venmo-handle
  3. Make sure Gmail is connected
  4. In Venmo → Settings → Notifications, enable email notifications to your connected Gmail

Memo matching works the same as CashApp — customers include a word in the payment note.

From: venmo@venmo.com
Subject: [username] paid you $X.XX for [memo_word]

PayPal

Setup:

  1. Go to Config → Payments and enable PayPal
  2. Enter your PayPal email address
  3. Make sure Gmail is connected
  4. In PayPal → Settings → Notifications, enable payment received emails to your connected Gmail

PayPal uses amount + sender name matching (no memo required). Customers must send via Friends & Family.

From: service@paypal.com
Subject: You received $X.XX from [Name]

Crypto

Setup:

  1. Go to Config → Payments and enable Crypto
  2. Enter wallet addresses for each coin you accept (BTC, ETH, SOL, LTC, USDT)

Crypto payments are detected automatically by polling blockchain explorers every 60 seconds. No Gmail connection needed for crypto.

Supported coins and their detection APIs:

CoinAPIAPI Key
BTCmempool.spaceNone required
ETH / USDT / USDCEtherscan V2Free tier key
SOLSolana public RPCNone required
LTCBlockchairFree tier
Always provide your own wallet addresses — Cuedin never controls or holds funds. Customers send directly to your wallet.

Manual payments

Manual payment is always available on every order regardless of plan. When a customer selects manual, they're instructed to contact a staff member. Staff then confirm payment using /fulfill or the dashboard.

About memo matching

For CashApp and Venmo, every invoice shows the customer a random word from your memo pool (e.g. "coffee", "lunch"). They must include this word when sending payment.

This serves two purposes:

You can customize your memo pool in Config → Payments → Memo Settings. The default pool contains 15 common everyday words. You can add up to 30-character words.
